Ask anybody if they know Mwila Musonda, you may get a mixed bag of answers, but mention the moniker Slap Dee and watch the reactions you get. Slap Dee is arguably the biggest name in the Zambian hip hop scene and with a growing international acclaim, it is no wonder his name elicits that kind of reactions from people; he has earned his bragging rights and worn his crown with pride and humility.

The first and (still) the only Zambian rapper to win at the coveted Ngoma Awards, nine trophies from the Zambian Music Awards and these are just some of the accolades he has received in a career that spans a couple of years.

He is a veteran in the game, a beast on stage and a boss on the streets and with a slew of hits dating back a couple of years, Slap Dee is still busy in the lab cooking up some new flame that is sure to keep Zambia on the global hip hop map.

On Zed Top 10 this week, K'Chinga chats to the rhymesmith Slap Dee about his music, attaining international acclaim, and what future projects he has got in store.
